Job Purpose:
Provides day-to-day technical oversight of mechanical systems within assets that QD retain an interest. This includes assets not managed by third party suppliers.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the technical review of designs and specification submitted by tenants in relation to assets retained by QD, ensuring QD's interested in the assets are protected
- Liaising with contractors and third-party designers as required to coordinate work
- Assess the work of Tenant Contractors
- Oversee and supervise the installation of building systems and specify maintenance and operating procedures
- Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders, architects and surveyors and in-house project teams
- Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
- Advise on forward maintenance work necessary to protect DQ's interest in retained assets
- Manage and oversee works undertaken on QD retained assets in Qatar, including Operations works associated with the tenant move in / move out process and alterations / refurbishments undertaken during the terms of tenancies.
- Participate in periodic on-site observation during construction, asset operation to ensure compliance with required QHSE and approved plans and budgets
- Manage the public realm through permanent and temporary assets, public space improvements, pop up retail, and other activation tools
- Lead and manage the work of contractors managing all the infrastructure utility operations – including performance management, KPI assessment, budgeting, operating costs management etc.
Education:
- 4+ years' experience in Facilities Management, Construction Engineering or other related discipline.
- Experience of working in a Landlord environment is preferred
- Be conversant with using computer-aided design (CAD), rivet and other 3D modelling tools used in the industry
- Be conversant with local statutory requirements and building regulations Education
- Technically qualified to HNC/ONC (or equivalent) in a building or engineering subject
