POSITION: Venue Manager


Job Purpose

Manage Passenger Over Flow Area Facility during the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Venue Manager will be directly responsible to the Capital Projects VP for the profitable development and management of the POA venue. Line managing a dynamic team of staff for the different zones, whilst ensuring the very best customer experience in a safe and secure environment. The post holder will be expected to make a major contribution to POA venue Commercial short-term objectives.

Main Responsibilities (This is not the complete list)

Key requirements

§ The Venue Manager will be in charge of managing the operation of the POA – Passenger Overflow Area. This will include, managing all stakeholders and understanding and supervising all operations. They will ensure that the location is safe and equipped on a daily basis for hosting guests of the POA prior to their departure from HIA. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the grounds and property maintenance and supervising all staff members.


Venue Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Managing all maintenance and repairs of the venue grounds, property, equipment, and facilities.

§ Ensuring that the venue and facilities are clean and organized.

§ Managing all events and liaising with the employer and stakeholders to determine event requirements.

§ Preparing venue hire packages and pricing options and negotiating with clients.

§ Supervising all staff including groundsmen, event staff, and maintenance personnel.

§ Scheduling and coordinating the rental of sound equipment, furniture, and other venue equipment.

§ Liaising with QDF catering services and supervising their requirements and logistics.

§ Supervising the operations of events and tending to any incidents or queries.

§ Managing all administrative tasks such as insurance, booking schedules, and invoicing.

§ Communicating and enforcing all security regulations and protocols.


Education & Experience

§ Bachelor’s Degree in event management, hospitality, or similar.


§ Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations.

§ Excellent promotional ability and knowledge of marketing channels and techniques.

§ Sound knowledge of safety measures and risk management strategies.

§ Great interpersonal and communication abilities with an international team.

§ Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

§ Strong negotiation skills and leadership abilities.

§ Willingness to work long hours and on weekends and holidays when required.

§ Knowledge of international standards, recommended practices, national codes specifications, and procedures in particular to environmental conservation.

§ Prove ability efficiency and quality improvement.



§ A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a venue or event manager.
